ツキノワグマ（日本に生息する本州・四国・九州のクマ）
とても特徴的な見た目と生態を持っています！かわいいけど実はかなり強い野生動物ですよ。
外見の特徴
- 胸の三日月型の白い模様
最大の特徴！胸に「V字」または「三日月」型の白い斑紋があるため、「ツキノワ（月輪）グマ」と呼ばれます。この模様は個体によって形や大きさがかなり違います（ほとんど見えない個体もいます）。 - 体格
ヒグマに比べてかなり小柄。
成獣の体長：110〜150cmくらい
体重：オス40〜150kg、メス30〜100kg（地域・季節で大違い。秋の栄養満点時はめっちゃ太ります） - 顔
ヒグマと比べて顔が短めで、鼻先がとがっていて「かわいい」と言われることが多いです（でも怒るとめっちゃ怖い）。 - 耳
丸くて大きく、ちょっと離れて生えています。
生態・行動の特徴
- 雑食性だけど植物食寄り
ドングリ・木の実・草・果物が大好き。秋には猛烈に太る「過食期（ハイパーファジア）」に入ります。
でも昆虫・小動物・魚・動物の死骸なども食べます（特に春〜初夏はタンパク質欲しさに肉率が上がる）。 - 木登りがめっちゃ上手
ヒグマより軽い体と鋭い爪で、高い木にもスイスイ登ります。危険を感じると子グマを木の上に避難させたり、自分も逃げたり。 - 冬眠する
11月〜4月頃まで冬眠。妊娠中のメスは雪の中で出産することもあります（子グマは真冬に生まれて春に出てきます）。 - 基本は単独行動
発情期（6〜7月）以外は基本ひとり。でも餌が豊富な場所（ブナの豊作の年など）では10頭以上が集まることも！
日本での地域差
- 本州の東北・北陸個体群 → 体が大きくてヒグマに近い見た目の個体もいる
- 中国・四国・九州の個体群 → かなり小型で体重50kg台の成獣も普通（特に九州ツキノワグマは日本最小）
性格（？）
個体差がすごく大きいですが、基本的には「ヒグマよりは人間を避ける傾向があります。でも餌付けされたり、子連れのメスだったりすると急に攻撃的になるので「かわいいから近づいちゃお」は絶対ダメです！
一言で言うと「胸に白い三日月マークがあって、木登り上手で、ドングリ大好きで、秋太りする日本の黒クマ」それがツキノワグマです！
