カンムリウミスズメ（学名: Synthliboramphus wumizusume、英名: Japanese Murrelet / Crested Murrelet）
ウミスズメ科の小型海鳥で、日本周辺海域に特有の貴重な種です。
主な特徴
- 大きさ: 全長約24-25cm（ムクドリ大）、翼長約12.3cm、体重平均約164g（139-214g程度）。小太りでコンパクトな体型です。
- 外見:
- 体の上面（背中）は青灰黒色、下面（腹）は白色のコントラストがはっきりした白黒模様。
- 最大の特徴は繁殖期（夏羽）の「冠羽」 — 頭頂部の羽が3-5cmほど長く伸びて冠のように見える（和名の由来）。
- 頬が黒く、後頭部は白い。
